A cement silo (cement tank) consists of numerous components, including the silo's steel structure, ladders, guardrails, feeding pipe, dust collector, pressure relief valve, high and low level gauges, and discharge valve. Key components such as the dust removal system, arch breaking device, and material level control are also crucial to the proper operation and performance of the cement silo.

 

Key Components and Functional Analysis
Function of the Dust Removal System: The cement silo's roof is equipped with an electric dust removal device that effectively absorbs suspended particles within the silo, thereby reducing pollution to the surrounding environment.
Principle and Function of the Arch Breaking Device: An air arch breaking device is installed in the lower cone of the cement silo. This device controls the release of compressed air through a small solenoid reversing valve in the air control box, thereby breaking arches in the cement and various powder materials, effectively preventing blockages caused by powder accumulation.
Function of the Material Level Control: The cement silo is equipped with a dedicated material level sensor that monitors the material storage height within the silo in real time.

 

Cement Tank Applications and Advantages
Cement tanks (also known as bulk cement tanks or cement silos) are commonly used in concrete mixing plants to store bulk cement. As closed storage tanks, they are suitable for storing a variety of bulk materials, including grain, cement, and fly ash. A level control system installed on the tank indicates the location and quantity of the material, while a de-caking device effectively eliminates the problem of material agglomeration caused by prolonged sedimentation. When used with a screw conveyor pump, the tank can easily transport materials to the desired location. Its easy installation and safety make it an ideal bulk storage tank for various mixing plants.

Applications in Concrete Mixing Plants: Cement tanks, essential components of concrete mixing plants, are commonly used to store bulk cement and dry fly ash. They are designed to be rainproof and moisture-proof, easy to use, and can be customized in size.

Tank Design and Features: The tank structure typically features a cylindrical frame with a dust removal device installed on the top to prevent dust from escaping. A de-caking device is installed on the bottom to eliminate powder agglomeration and ensure smooth discharge. At the same time, a material level sensor monitors the material level in the silo in real time.

Powdered materials are typically pneumatically delivered to the silo by bulk cement trucks. Discharging methods vary depending on the silo's structure. There are two common methods: one is to connect to a screw conveyor, which feeds the powdered materials in via a metered screw conveyor; the other is to use pneumatic conveying (suitable for cement tanks with special structures).
