1. Cutting Accuracy
For applications in the construction industry, a precision of ±0.5mm or less is generally sufficient; however, for automotive mirrors, a precision of ±0.01mm or less is required. Cutting accuracy generally offered by various machine manufacturers is within ±0.2mm. However, this goes beyond simply relying on the product manual. During acceptance, a comprehensive cutting accuracy testing procedure should be implemented, based on actual product accuracy measurements. We typically use more than a dozen test surfaces. This testing allows us to fully assess the flatness of the cutting platform and the synchronization level of the control system.
2. Cutting Speed
Only after ensuring cutting accuracy can we discuss speed. Due to the short cutting platform, it is difficult to visually determine whether the maximum speed has been achieved. The software simulation function of the cutting machine's servo drive can be used to verify that the motor speed has reached its maximum. When testing cutting speed, increase the acceleration and deceleration without actually cutting. Each axis can be tested separately or simultaneously. 3. Automatic Layout Optimization
For cutting machines, considering processing costs and the specialized nature of sheeting, highly educated individuals are generally not assigned this role. This requires that the machine's operation be simple and easy to understand, not too complex. Otherwise, it could lead to a situation where one can afford the machine but not maintain it. A defect avoidance function is ideal, as domestically produced glass substrates sometimes contain defective parts. The graphics library for custom-shaped cutting should be extensive and flexible, allowing CAD-generated graphics to be included in layout development.
4. Easy Maintenance
I/O signals and mechanical sensors should be minimized, and unnecessary switches and indicator lights should be kept to a minimum. Any mechanical component failure can affect the machine's operation. Fewer components reduces the probability of failure and reduces wiring, making it easier to troubleshoot and replace parts. Ideally, the status of each I/O signal can be adjusted on the screen. Maintenance costs are a key factor to consider when purchasing a machine.

While still meeting the required cutting dimensions, choosing an energy-efficient cutting machine offers many benefits.
