Cutting machine instructions

1. After installing the cutting machine, turn on the power and check that all parts rotate freely and that all fasteners are loose.
2. Turn on the power and press the main unit button to check whether the blade is rotating in the direction indicated by the arrow. If it is not, adjust it immediately. After checking, you can clamp the rock sample and start cutting. When clamping the rock sample, select a secure clamping point to prevent loose or false clamping. This prevents damage to the cutter and sample due to rock movement during the cutting process.
3. When clamping irregular rocks, use the push-on clamping method. Clamping steps: First, place the rock sample 8 flat on the workbench. Then, insert the push-on movable clamp 10 along the T-slot 3. Select the distance between the clamp and the rock sample. Tighten the clamp base screws. Move the push rod bolt 13 up and down to select a secure clamping point. Then, tighten the push rod movable nut 11. Continue to rotate the push rod until it firmly presses against the rock sample. At the same time, tighten the push rod nut 12 to prevent it from loosening during cutting. 4. When cutting core samples, if there are a large number of rocks, you can use the included long pressure plate to press down on several samples and cut them together to improve work efficiency. The clamping method is as follows: Place the rock sample 8 flat on the workbench 6. Insert the pressure plate bolt along the T-slot 3. Insert one end of the long pressure plate 9 into the square hole on the vertical surface of the workbench. Turn the adjustment screw 7 and the pressure plate bolt nut 10 to tighten the sample. If there is a slight error in the diameter of the core sample, place a thin wooden strip on top of the sample to ensure that the long pressure plate can press against the sample. This method is also applicable when clamping cut rectangular and cube-shaped rock samples.
5. When operating, first start the main motor and then press the feed button. When starting cutting, due to the irregular shape of many rocks, the feed speed should be slow. Wait until the blade has fully entered the rock sample before increasing it slightly.
6. The cutter automatically advances and retracts. When the cutter reaches the end of its movement along the workbench, it automatically retracts to the starting point and stops. If you need to rewind during operation, press the fast rewind button on the console. If you need to advance during fast rewind, press the work feed button to advance the cutter. Whether advancing or retracting, pressing the stop button stops the cutter. If the cutter finds itself too far from the rock sample during operation, press and hold the fast forward button or jog forward. Once the blade approaches the rock sample, release the button. Then press the work feed button again to resume normal cutting. This reduces feed assist time.
7. When cutting specimens, adjust the feed speed based on the rock hardness beforehand. Adjusting the feed speed during cutting may cause cutter marks. Based on experience, a speed of around 40 mm/min is generally recommended for cutting hard rock.
